2021 Summer Movie Season Recap

The SBPCA offered six movies this summer, two drive ins (on May 1 and October 2) and 4 movies on the pool grounds. Weather was a challenge in mid summer. Raya and the Last Dragon was rained out twice, but we had perfect weather for the third try. We expanded to six movies as COVID cancelled our summer concerts, redirecting our concert funds to hold movie nights instead.

Movie attendance was off this summer but recovered for our final Drive In movie. Our October movie selection resulted from a Civic listserv poll of SBPCA members. We believe that October’s increased attendance was partly due to that poll and plan to use that approach for next year’s season.

Our local scouts attended every movie night selling popcorn and other snacks Summer Entertainment sponsor and neighbor PAULETTE LADAS of ReMax Realty also offered free snacks to our movie night patrons.
